Acappella Sounds Chorus is part of Sweet Adelines International, an amazing group of real women, dedicated to the promotion of women's barbershop harmony through education and quality performance. Together its members aspire to achieve musical excellence while creating a spirit of unity, enthusiasm and fun, in which each individual can realize her greatest potential within the organization.
Each year Acappella Sounds Chorus prepares and travels to compete at the Annual Quartet & Chorus Competition of North Atlantic Region 1, Sweet Adelines International.
Tracey Larder, Director
Tracey has been in love with music ever since she can remember. She is a graduate of McGill University, in music with a major in composition. She plays several instruments, and has performed in many different ensembles, small groups, orchestras, quartets and choirs. She accidentally stumbled into the Barbershop world about 10 years ago, and quickly added it to the list of her many favourite genres of music. “I thought barbershop music was full of red and white pinstriped suits, with twirly-moustached men! What a surprise to discover a cappella music for women and what a wonderful sound it is! No striped suits, and THANK GOD no moustaches!”
