Alexander Technique is an educative and preventative approach which brings to light the whole body in each gesture that we make on a daily basis. Our physical, mental and emotional states seek a sense of equilibrium, often affected by the way we function.
Frédéric Mathias Alexander (1869-1955) was a Shakespearian actor who was forced to abandon his career because of vocal problems which caused him to lose his voice during performances. With much patience and observation he discovered and created a group of principles which helped him to solve his vocal problems. Delving further into this new approach, Alexander developed a teaching method with which he could work with those wishing to develop sound vocal skills.
