Brandon Howard Roy is thrilled to be returning to the amazing Festival de la Voix and is honoured to share the stage with Laura and Suzanne. Born and raised in Montreal’s West Island, he studied voice performance for 4 years with Kerry-Anne Kutz while playing many leading roles in John Abbott College’s Theatre Workshop program (Oklahoma, 1984) and performing regionally with various musical projects. He is most recently a graduate of Sheridan College’s Bachelor of Music Theatre Performance program, where he performed in Sunday in the Park with George, Dogfight, Floyd Collins, Senza Luce, and originated the role of Skor in the Canadian Music Theatre Project’s workshop of the new musical Rumspringa Break.
He has spent 4 summers on Prince Edward Island, re-enacting history with the Confederation Centre of the Arts’ Confederation Players, with whom he toured Eastern Canada to celebrate Canada’s sesquicentennial in 2017, in addition to having performed in three seasons of Feast Dinner Theatre musical comedies including French Kiss, Scandalous! and Shucked. He made his professional Montreal stage debut under the direction of Donna Feore in the world premiere of The Hockey Sweater: A Musical at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts in the fall of 2017, and is very excited to be joining the 2018 company of Anne & Gilbert: The Musical at Charlottetown’s Guild Theatre. Many thanks to Mom, Dad, Kerry-Anne and the west island performing arts community for their endless support!
