Kamala Youth Choir loves to sing! By rehearsing and performing a varied repertoire, singers learn about history, culture, values and compassion. As choir members strive for artistic excellence they develop perseverance, discipline, and the ability to work with others to achieve common goals. Kamala sings for all kinds of audiences from all walks of life, performing for heads of state, prominent conductors, local charities and events. The singers in Kamala are proud to be part of Voices West, which includes five choirs from western Canada. This group presented the opening concert at the 2016 ACCC Podium convention in Edmonton.
Kamala Youth Choir is one of three choirs under the Battleford Children’s Choirs umbrella, operating in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. It was founded in 2000 by co-directors Dianne Gryba and JoAnne Kasper. Kamala Youth Choir members, 11 – 18 years of age, make up the auditioned choir.
In their performances, Kamala Youth choristers strive to communicate texts with sincerity and passion. Kamala is privileged to take part in the “Festival de la Voix”, and we look forward to our continued growth through this collaboration with new singers and teachers.
