Myriam Leblanc
Soprano Myriam Leblanc has garnered rave reviews. Music critic Christophe Huss opined that “in the last ten years, she is one of the most beautiful voices, perhaps the most beautiful, to have emerged from the Quebec talent pool” (Samedi et rien d’autre, Radio-Canada).
With a master's degree in choral conducting from the Université de Sherbrooke and a diploma from McGill University, the soprano is equally at home in the classical, bel canto, and baroque repertoires. Boasting numerous awards, she has been a guest soloist of various symphony orchestras, including the OSM, the Orchestre Métropolitain, and those of Trois-Rivières, Quebec City, and Saskatoon.
She has recorded two albums on the Analekta label, and one, recently published on the ATMA label. Her recent projects include incarnations of Micaela in Bizet’s Carmen (2024, Francis Choinière) and Mimi in Puccini’s La Bohème with the OSTR (2023, Jean-Marie Zeitouni) as well as many concerts: Handel’s Messiah Toronto’s Tafelmusik (2024, Ivars Taurins), and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio with Les Violons du Roy (2023, Jonathan Cohen).
She also has several recordings to her credit including Amour fou (Ensemble Mirabilia, ATMA 2024), Israel in Egypt (Concert Spirituel, Alpha Classics, 2023), Écho et Narcisse (Concert Spirituel, Château de Versailles, 2022), La Grazia delle Donne (Ensemble La Cigale, Analekta 2021) as well as Luce e ombra/Vivaldi (Ensemble Mirabilia, Analekta, 2021).
