Our Mission

Vox Aeterna is committed to promoting the beauty and versatility of the human voice during its annual Festival de la Voix, by providing people of all ages and from all socio-economic environments with opportunities to attend high-caliber, multicultural concerts and workshops featuring both established and emerging Québecois, First Nations, and Canadian artists and instrumentalists.

About

Festival de la Voix is an annual music festival held over the span of four weeks each spring at a host of venues primarily based in the West Island of Montreal. The concerts and workshops feature internationally renowned professional artists and musicians from various backgrounds, cultures, and musical styles—from opera to jazz to pop and beyond.

As well as serving the general public, Vox Aeterna is committed to providing educational opportunities to children through our annual MUSIQUEMOSAÏQUE concerts for elementary school students and FEST DE LA VOIX GOES TO SCHOOL! concerts for secondary school students.

We are thrilled to have initiated a new concert tour of six high schools created by emerging First Nations and Québécois singer/songwriters in 2023. This reconciliation project entitled Nikamu Mamuitun features the compelling personal stories and fabulous songs of ten young artists.

The Festival also includes concerts for local senior citizens, providing transportation to the shows and ensuring the ticket prices remain affordable through discounted rates. We endeavour to reach out to all who are lonely or disenfranchised so that they too might enjoy the beauty and the benefits of live music.

Our History

Festival de la Voix was founded in 2012 under the charitable organization known as Vox Aeterna, by soprano, singer-songwriter, and voice teacher Kerry-Anne Kutz, along with her friends and students Sonia Castiglione and Sheila Faour-Warren.

Kerry-Anne’s mission was to provide her students and the wider community with the opportunity to discover exceptional professional singers and musicians of various genres in concert, as well as the chance to learn from these artists in workshops and masterclasses.

Eleven years later, Festival de la Voix has produced countless concerts and workshops celebrating many musical genres and highlighting some of Quebec’s finest artists and choirs from across the country. The Festival also includes a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talents.

Festival de la Voix continues to grow year after year, welcoming music lovers of all ages and bringing its extended community together.
